
SHEILA FISCHMAN is the award-winning translator of some 150 contemporary novels from French. She has received numerous awards for her translations and for her life’s work, including the Governor General’s Literary Award for Translation, the Columbia University Translation Center Award (twice). In 2000, she was invested into the Order of Canada and, in 2008, into the Ordre national du Québec. Most recently, she was awarded the Canada Council for the Arts Molson Prize. She lives in Montreal.
