Gender in Translation: After Hours featuring Lola Lafon

November04 at San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, CA

Gender in Translation will be featuring bestselling Paris-based novelist and musician, Lola Lafon, in the After Hours event in San Francisco. The author of three previous novels, Lafon was born in France and grew up in Sofia and Bucharest. The original French edition of The Little Communist Who Never Smiled won ten prizes, including the prestigious Prix de la Closerie des Lilas. She lives in Paris.

This special event is aimed at deciphering and translating cross-cultural articulations of sex and gender in a set of ever-changing political and artistic contexts by bringing together a distinguished array of intergenerational and international theorists, artists, and authors.
