    March 5, 2011

March 5, 2011, the Ridgewood Public Library in New Jersey is hosting an event for Ina May Gaskin as she promotes her latest work Birth Matters: How What We Don't Know About Nature, Bodies, and Surgery Can Hurt Us. Ina May Gaskin has gained international notoriety for promoting natural birth. She is a much-beloved leader of a movement that seeks to stop the hyper-medicalization of birth—which has lead to nearly a third of hospital births in America to be cesarean sections—and renew confidence in a woman's natural ability to birth. This is a two-part event. From noon-1:30PM, there will be a presentation followed by a book signing for the general public. A special presentation and signing for birth professionals will follow from 2:30-4:00PM. Registration for the general public presentation begins at 11:30AM and tickets are $15 or $25 per pair. Registration for birth professionals begins at 2:00pm and tickets are $20 plus $5 for CEU credits. Location: The Ridgewood Public Library 125 N. Maple Ave Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
