From Amnesty International: the history of Aung San Suu Kyi and the history of Burma.
Daw Suu Kyi’s trial for violation of the terms of her house arrest resumed on Friday and final arguments will be made on July 24, with a verdict expected by August. Until then, Daw Suu Kyi waits in Insein Prison, despite the world’s condemnation of her jailers and a personal request to the head of Burma’s military junta from Ban Ki-moon to let Aung San Suu Kyi go.
