The Bronx Library Center hosts Swedish journalists Daniel Goldberg and Linus Larsson to talk about their experiences with gaming icon “Notch” and the state of the gaming industry in Sweden. For kids, teens, adults, and anyone with a love for Minecraft and indie gaming!

Minecraft is played by more than 30 million people of all ages around the world and revolutionized the indie gaming industry. The Swedish creator of this cultural phenomenon, known as “Notch,” has become an icon and a multi-millionaire in a few short years. Kids and adults have embraced the game for its simple, unique design and its endless possibilities for creative innovation.

Minecraft: The Unlikely Tale of Markus “Notch” Persson and the Game that Changed Everything (November 5, 2013), is based on Linus Larsson and Daniel Goldberg’s exclusive interviews with Notch, his family and friends, and big players in the gaming community. Here is a story of unlikely success, fast money, and the power of digital technology to rattle an empire.

LINUS LARSSON and DANIEL GOLDBERG are freelance journalists who write for several Swedish newspapers. They have been published in the Washington Post and American Computer World among other papers, and quoted by BBC News, the New York Times, and the Sydney Morning Herald. Their first book, Swedish Hackers, was published in 2011 in Sweden.
