About the panel:
Justice in the Age of Imperial America: Unchecked Political Power Versus the Law
Nobody is above the law, unless you are among the powerful. The Bush administration felt no need to abide by International Law or the US Constitution, and little was done to stop it.
Today, the world faces a serious emerging dilemma: the growing tension between unchallenged political power and the rule of law. With the International Criminal Court bringing the possibility of prosecution for unruly heads of state, and President Obama bringing a new philosophy to the White House, will International and National law finally win out over the will of the powerful?
