Laurie Rubin, author of Do You Dream in Color? Insights from a Girl without Sight, will be at the Rock Springs High School Theatre to perform a variety of popular music and opera songs, as well as promote her new memoir. The multi-talented Rubin will also have some of her jewelry designs on display.
Being blind since birth has not stopped Laurie Rubin from living her dreams. The critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano has released several albums, toured the world, written a memoir, and has still found time to design her own jewelry. Her book, Do You Dream in Color?, looks back on her life as an international opera singer who happens to be blind. From her loneliness and isolation as a middle school student to her experiences skiing, Rubin offers her young readers a life-story rich in detail and inspiration drawn from everyday challenges.
To hear Laurie Rubin perform and speak about her book, as well as to see some of her amazing jewelry designs, visit her in Rock Springs.
