Saturday and Sunday on Governor’s Island, don’t miss an amazing program that includes a collective reading of Walter Benjamin’s sonnets, a conversation on a possible history of the global south by Vijay Prashad and Andrew Hsiao, and much more.
Seven Stories will have two authors participating in the weekend’s events!
On Sunday, 6/14, at 2pm, don’t miss Hilary Klein, author of Compañeras: Zapatista Women’s Stories, at WHAT IS BEING DONE?, a conversation with Bhaskar Sunkara from Jacobin, Basma Eid of the Street Vendor Project, Tammy Kim of Al Jazeera America, and Sujatha Fernandes, author of Close to the Edge: In Search of the Global Hip Hop Generation.
Immediately thereafter, at 3, join poet, activist, and Worker Writers organizer Mark Nowak for a conversation with the legendary Bill Ayers, author of many books, and co-author and -editor of Sing a Battle Song! The subject will be RADICAL SCHOOLS & WORKERS’ SCHOOLS.
