By now almost everyone knows “the Stieg Larsson phenomenon”—he wrote The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest but died in 2004 without seeing their massive success. But few knew Larsson the man well enough to tell his real story—and no one knew him like his companion of 30 years, Eva Gabrielsson. Author of the memoir “There Are Things I Want You to Know About” Stieg Larsson and Me, Gabrielsson appears with Seattle Times books editor Mary Ann Gwinn to discuss her romance with Larsson; his lifelong struggle to expose Sweden’s Neo-Nazis; his difficult relationships with his immediate family; the joy and relief he discovered writing the Millennium Trilogy; and her claims in the controversy surrounding his legacy and royalties. Presented by Town Hall, with Elliott Bay Book Company.
